Nazanin Pouyandeh is a French-Iranian artist, currently living in exile in Paris. Pouyandeh is emerging as one of the most powerful painters of her generation. She creates the characters in her pieces in a fleeting moment, envisaging their relationships to a particular time and place. Pouyandeh then re-stages these visions with real-life counterparts and uses the photographs taken as the basis for her paintings. Recent solo exhibitions include The other side of the story at the Vincent Sator Gallery in Paris, and Day of Silence in Dubai.
